The « Plankton Chronicles » project is being created in the context of the Tara Oceans Expedition and the Observatoire Oceanologique de Villefranche-sur-Mer (OOV). It is sponsored by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS Institutes INSB et INEE), by the Pierre et Marie Curie University (UPMC), the city of Nice, France and the Scientific Groupement Interest GIS IBISA
Christian Sardet, Research Director with the CNRS at Villefranche-sur-Mer conceived the series with Véronique Kleiner and Catherine Balladur from CNRS Images (Meudon). Four episodes (Plankton, Pteropods, Pleurobrachia, Embryos and Larvae) were produced by CNRS Images, and the others by Christian Sardet / OOV / CNRS Cote-d'Azur.
Scenarios, filming, editing and post-production were done by Christian Sardet (CNRS), Véronique Kleiner (CNRS Images), Noé Sardet and Sharif Mirshak (PARAFILMS) and others as specified in the different episodes. Sacha Bollet worked on the project which especially benefited from the generous help of Claude Carré, the personnel of the Observatoire Océanologique de Villefranche-sur-Mer as well as participants and coordinators of the Tara Oceans Expedition.
A big thanks to all those who helped make this series and in particular Sacha Bollet, Bernard Dubreuil, Gregory Gallagher, Christian Johnson, Romain Strugalla, Ted Rosengarten, Camila Ossandon y Dana Sardet.
